Watercolor double cups! These are handmade ceramics, made by me! The purpose of these cups is to hold your water for brush washing during painting. Two cups of water is helpful with watercolor so that you can have a dirty water container and a clean water container. I always had trouble with managing two loose cups on my table, they seemed to take up too much space and move around a lot. So, I made one of these to suit my needs and I loved it! As more and more people saw me paint with these I realized I wasn't alone in my struggles, so I have started making them!
Current Glaze Options:
- Light Blue & White Speckle - I love this super light blue color! The inside and the majority of the outside of this speckled clay is glazed with the pale light blue and it transitions to the white at the bottom.
- Teal & Purple - Speckled clay with a lovely lilac purple on the inside and rim of the double cups. The outside has my favorite teal green glaze!
- Deep Green & Tan Blooms - This one reminds me of a shoreline. The deep green is on the inside of the cups and goes to about halfway down. It then transitions to a white stripe and into this lovely tan color that has crystal blooms that create a wonderful effect and fun colors!
- Purple Drip - This combo features a speckled clay with a fun purple interior and exterior. On the outside it combines with my favorite glaze interaction in the middle that creates lovely blue colors and then into a near green color on the bottom.
- Blue, White, & Black - I love the modern look of this one that is split into three distinct colors. The top and inside features a lovely blue. The outside features a strip of blue, white, and then the bottom has black. All on a speckled clay that gives it charm.
- Black & Pink - I love a sneaky pop of color and this one has it! The outside is covered in a black glaze, the rim and inside feature a lovely light pink. The clay is speckled and give it a little extra something!
These double watercolor cups are one small and one larger cup attached together with a divot on the bigger cup to hold your brush. The smaller cup holds about 6 ounces of water, and the larger holds about 8-10 ounces of water.
I love that these are connected side-by-side because it makes them more compact and take up less space on your workspace.
These are hand thrown and glazed by me, so there are some slight variations within them.
This listing will show the current glaze colors I have available. I understand there is a lot of demand for these, but please keep in mind each of these takes me a lot of time to create between throwing, trimming, drying for a week, bisque firing, glazing, refiring, and then finishing the bottoms. I love making them, but there is only so much I can do at one time!
Some glazes will have a slight crackling effect. They still hold water and are perfectly functional, but overtime with the use of watercolor the crackles may become stained and create a lovely aged effect on the inside. In other words your cups could develop and change just as you do along your artistic journey!
