Black paper is such a unique art supply that opens interesting possibilities. It's perfect for use with opaque watercolors, gouache, acrylic, or my favorite metallic watercolors.
 
This black paper is the best I have ever used for metallics. Most black papers aren't made specifically for watercolor, but this one is. The water absorbs into the paper like a dream and the contrast of it against the metallics is so beautiful. Sometimes I just get it out to watch the metallics sparkle on the page as I add them to the water.
