What - In-person watercolor workshop - Watercolor Bootcamp!

When - Friday, April 24th 3 - 7pm & Saturday, April 25th 8:30am - 5:30pm

Where - Fort Collins, CO (Exact location will be sent with your official attendance materials. The location is accessible by wheelchair.)

Who - Watercolor and art enthusiasts!

Why - Learn the basics, get in person feedback, explore, learn!

  • I am a beginner and need help learning!

  • I need some dedicated time to learn the basics and create some fun paintings

  • I learn better with in-person instruction

 

Requirements

I designed this workshop with adults in mind. But there aren’t any real requirements other than being able to attend during the stated time period. Supplies will be provided, you just need a willingness to learn!


 

Logistics

Let’s go over some of what will be included in this workshop and what’s not included:

Included:

  • Workshop instruction

  • Coffee, tea, and light snacks

  • Lunch on Saturday

  • Goodies!

    • This workshop will include lots of fun goodies, like a coffee mug (made by me), watercolors, brush…and anything else I think you’ll need to be successful during the class!

  • Access to lots of art supplies! In addition to anything that’s a need to have, I might bring other fun things for us to play with in person!

Not Included:

  • Travel arrangements & accommodation. You will be responsible for getting to and from the workshop location, as well as booking your own accommodation.

What to expect after booking!

  • Once you’ve booked your spot is reserved, and you will receive an email (please note that it might take a day or two to receive the email, I will be sending these manually) with a couple things you need to fill out:

    • Participation waivers

    • Workshop questionnaire (this will help me get to know you and also help me with some logistical details like what to order for lunch in case there are dietary restrictions)

  • If you haven’t filled out the necessary forms within  7 days of booking and receiving the forms, I will be releasing your spot and opening it back up. You will be refunded minus the $15 processing fee to cover the credit card transaction processing. Refunds typically take 1-3 days to arrive in your bank after processing. If you’re struggling with the forms or anything please reach out to monica@rebelunicorncrafts.com for help!

  • I will be mailing you an itinerary and welcome note through the postal service.

  • You will be added to my mailing list for the workshop to advise and give additional details you might need for the workshop.

  • There will be a group chat functionality to allow you to chat with your fellow attendees that will be announced a few weeks prior to the event. 

  • Finally, just be ready to get creative!

 

Draft Itinerary:

Friday 

  • 3-4pm - Settle in

    • Group introductions

    • Goal setting

    • Goodie bags

    • Setup your space

  • 4-5 - Supply information and exploration

  • 5-6 - Watercolor basics and color mixing

  • 6-7 - Fun and easy sketchbook exercise

 

Saturday

  • 8:30 -9 - Settle in, grab coffee/tea and get ready to paint!

  • 9-10 - Watercolor techniques overview and coaching

  • 10-10:30 Comfort break

  • 10:30-12 - Putting techniques into practice by painting little mountain silhouettes

  • 12-1 Lunch (provided)

  • 1-2  Palette cleanser sketchbook exercise

  • 2-3 Cotton paper

  • 3-4 Water control practice via a fun pattern 

  • 4-5 Second chance - students choose one of the projects we’ve done so far and retry while I help troubleshoot issues

  • 5-6 cute little animal painting

  • 6-6:30 goal review

  • The booking is non-refundable, unless the spot can be filled by someone else. So, if your plans change the earlier you notify me, the better your chance of getting a refund is. A few more details about this:

    • If we’re able to fill your spot you will be refunded minus a $15 processing fee. Refunds will appear back on your original payment method typically within 1-3 days after submitted.

    • All spots must be finalized and filled by April 3rd, 2026. After that the spots are set, so no more cancelling and swapping will be allowed and you will no longer be entitled to a refund.
